Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Students should not be allowed to pray in school.
What is the function of the local school board?
To guide the educational construct of public education and advocate for best practices and academic excellence for all children. That means setting policies that provide a safe and comprehensive environment to address the child's individuality.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
All school boards should be working with teachers, administrators, and parents to review and determine where the educational mandates meet classroom applicability to ensure student readiness. Teachers need to be empowered so they can use their own learning theory education in their classrooms, while following reasonable classroom management standards to ensure student success.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
Math, Language Arts, Science, Personal Finances, American History, Physical Fitness, Vocational Learning, Information Technology, Art and Music, Foreign Language
Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.
Schools should use Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and resources to teach emotions, values, and relationships.
I support the teaching of the 1619 Project emphasizing slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
When students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student. All issues on this subject should be referred to the parents of the student.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Teachers should not use alternative names and pronouns without parental permission.
Therapy to help children turn from unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria should be banned.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents or caregivers are responsible for all sexual education matters prior to entering high school. Health education in high school should focus on body autonomy, consent and the right to say no regardless of peer pressure.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
Since abstinence only education has not been allowed in schools since the early 2000's, my personal answer of ABSTINENCE only could be deemed short sighted. As a person with a masters in public health and education, I believe when taught appropriately the following can be taught to avoid, unwanted pregnancies, STI's and other dreadful side effects: contraceptive methods, physical and emotional health outcomes, consent, abstinence, human anatomy/the reproductive system.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
God and I have a long-standing relationship after a brief crisis of faith in my early 20s. I have learned the value of a life lived with God and the beauty of His presence in my life. I believe with God all things are possible. I know this because when I made this decision, I asked God to guide me to do what I could to help our nation as I watched us falling apart. I then found myself walking 42 miles in 2 weeks to get the requisite number of signatures to run. He is my guide.
Why are you running for this office?
My decision to run for the board of education is because I believe our children deserve better than what they are being provided. Over the course of the past few years, the public school system has continued to lower educational standards to manipulate greater positive outcomes. Education doesn’t work that way and I believe a change of leadership is necessary to restart our children on the path to a better future. That starts now in the present moment with a return to the fundamentals of education. Our children are struggling to read and write when they leave school, while current school boards are allowing political agendas to indoctrinate our children.
A candidate's personal moral values should not be relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
What books have had the most profound impact on your view of life?
The Bible, The Celestine Prophecy 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have masters in public health and education. I worked for 15 years with state and local governments planning for a pandemic and developing curriculums for hospitals, public health departments, fire, police and EMS. I spent a good deal of time with local politicians building consensus.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I have openly denounced the CRT and the implementation of political indoctrination theories such as the 1619 Project. I have advocated and spoken openly and honestly about medical freedom and the right to refuse any medical procedure that defies religious beliefs. My child and I both spoke out against masks, imploring the school board members to remember that these rights are our God given rights and not man. I do not believe transgender politics belong in our schools and I have spoken openly about the use of community-based organizations to help children in an effort to leave this out of our public schools.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a retired public health educator and emergency planner who worked for the City of New York’s Department of Mental Health and Hygiene before starting a consulting business with my husband, a retired U.S. Marine gunnery sergeant. We settled in Stafford in 2015 with two children and two rescue dogs. Every year for my daughter's birthday, at her request, we do a "Feed the Furbabies" donation drive, where instead of gifts people give her donations for shelters and rescues. Last year we raised more than 700 pounds of food and hundreds of toys and supplies, it's been amazing! We are blessed.
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Do you support mandatory vaccinations for children attending public school?
I do not support mandating/forcing our parents to go against any belief system regarding substances entering the body and sacrificing their child's rights to medical autonomy and informed consent. The current culture of holding parents and children hostage is a disgrace and a distraction.
