Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

No one gets pregnant just to have an abortion, and because of the widespread practice, it it hard to label such a broad swath of Americans evil. I think it is important to provide families resources so that they can choose life, as the most common reason behind abortion is anticipated financial hardship, which equates to a system that economically coerces women to have abortions. That is not my version of "choice." Restrictions that are outside of the Supreme Court rulings in Roe v Wade and Casey v Planned Parenthood, end up wasting taxpayer dollars more than anything else, so I would focus my efforts on removing the "resource scarcity" issue.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would consolidate school districts to save on top-heavy administrative costs; shrink the size of the legislature to save over $10 million on legislative salaries alone, as well as savings on pensions, per diems, and other benefits; and eliminate many of the subsidies that put the government in the business of picking winners and losers.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The separation of church and state is a fundamental tenet in the American system of government. It protects people of all religions from having their expression of and association with their faith used against them by the government. The only practical way for this to occur is for the government to stay out of the business of choosing which religions to represent. The Christian influence at America's founding cannot be overstated, as many founders were men of deep and meaningful faith sewn into the very documents that laud our Creator and speak to a certain civic morality.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Without question, health care is important to the residents of the 101st district and beyond. After Obamacare, many people were saddled with high premiums and coverage that is useless because of high deductibles. There is still so much waste, fraud, and abuse in the system, that our current healthcare system works well for some chronically under-served communities but diminishes overall care. My conscience does not allow for leaving people to die when they can be helped, so universal coverage is the only solution that prevents emergency room free riders.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

In many communities, like those of the 101st District, population influx is a solution in want of a problem. Under normal, non-pandemic circumstances, full employment is achievable in Lebanon County, and there is a workforce shortage. Many farmers rely on foreign workers with visas to conduct business. For immigration specifically, there is a process in place, and it should be followed. The benefits of immigration to communities with populations trending down are undeniable. Population drives economic growth in many cases, and we require more workers in my district, especially without a solution to the brain drain issue that arises from too little effort put into making the area more appealing to young people.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have a strong abiding commitment to protecting people from all manner of harm, and while I reject religious tests for public office, I know that my faith has guided me over many treacherous terrains.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Press releases, policy statements, and my overall digital presence.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

While I had to attend school for many years in pursuit of my doctorate of veterinary medicine, the education I received for this role came from running a successful business across multiple locations, interacting with the public as a business owner and politically involved citizen, and my actions as a Rotarian to serve people. These facets of my life all contribute insight that I would take to Harrisburg with me.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

I never have, and I stand firmly with victims of such offenses.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I want the people of the 101st District to know that when I face tough decisions in Harrisburg, my first, second, third, and fourth considerations will be the well-being of my constituents. They deserve a champion and a better advocate. They deserve leadership that transcends partisanship.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Generally speaking, restrictions should be on criminal uses and not on ownership, because depriving a gun owner of the right to own certain types of firearms is an Constitutional consideration that requires the same type of scrutiny employed to deprive people of speech. There should be responsible gun ownership laws that encourage responsible actions. Safe storage capacity and the ability to answer basic questions about ownership should be required, without the incursion of fees.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Shrink the legislature 2. Consolidate schools 3. Eliminate property taxes without taxing my fellow retirees

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to domestic security because of the acts perpetrated by proponents of ethno-nationalism. Because we are generally dealing with such small numbers in such a large population, trends and statistics can be easily manipulated, so it is good to maintain a clear perspective on the actual scope of the issue, which is rising, but still not large.
