Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

No Answer

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a Healthcare Administrator, Life and Death, and the quality of life considerations of each of these are medical decisions and always should be personal discussions between an individual and their medical provider and/or that individual and their Spiritual Advisor. Given that preface, I believe in the circumstance where due to the birth process itself or due to a medical anomaly caused by the pregnancy where the birth would not be viable or is creating a serious life-threatening medical condition for the mother would there be consideration. I emphasize when such a occasion arises, those discussions should be between the patient and their medical provider to decide based on his/her expert medical knowledge and with the full understanding and consent of the patient.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

These golden years should be the best ever for our seniors and they should be shielded from tax increases and decreases in Social Security-which I would tie to cost of living. Our seniors must be honored and protected. The challenges for today’s seniors are twofold: 1) the forever-increasing property taxes at the local level and 2) the rising cost of health care coupled with a Medicare system that is too slow and outdated to adjust to new assisted living systems. As an Attleboro city councilor I advocated for a Senior Tax Freeze to counteract a hefty property tax increase levied by the cost to build a new High School. As a Congresswoman, I will propose a cap on senior citizen income taxes once they reach a certain age, regardless of their income level, in order to effectively plan their retirement with their families. I will support legislation in Medicare system where benefits stay commensurate to the Cost of Living.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would not look to reduce a budget without analysis of the repercussions of doing so as budgets are complex. For any budget, I would insist upon a line by line sound Cost Benefit Analysis be presented and accountability of every program to ensure program integrity. A budgeted program must state at the onset, expected outcomes. Any increases or decreases from the previous budget must come with proper, detailed and clear justification which includes evidence of effectiveness to outcome.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Students should work off a certain portion of their student loans by serving their country in some capacity either the military, social programs or assisting foreign governments via the Peace Corps. It would be optimal if they service provided lines up with their degree. Students should consider the value of critical skills/arts the State and Country needs to ensure a healthy economy and maintain our culture. We should fund and align our needs to VoTech Ed, programs including arts and music.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The original idea of religious liberty was cemented during the first English settlements in Massachusetts who were escaping persecution from the Church of England. The establishment clause is simple - the state shall not establish an official religion. The framers wanted to make sure that government actions and decisions were not controlled by or coordinated with a powerful state-embedded church. The Establishment Clause was never meant to be a total separation of church and state where all references to religion and faith, like prayer at public school graduations and nativity scenes on public property are to be eliminated completely from any entity tied to government. Throughout the years, Thomas Jefferson's famous 1802 Danbury Letter has been used to forward the thinking that a "wall of separation" has to be put between church and state. My interpretation is that not establishing an official religion does not mean banishing it from public life

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I served as the Medical Chief Operating Officer of the largest taxpayer funded medical systems during my time in the Air Force. Washington’s promise of “Medicare for All” would really mean “Good Healthcare for None.” Instead of a disastrous single-payer system, I opts for a hybrid approach that expands the role of Medicare and Medicaid that incorporates high risk/high cost populations and those not covered as a safety net, introduce more competition in both the private and public plans, manage care effectively, and demand more accountability throughout the system. Competition will encourage innovation and entrepreneurship that will deliver better care at a lower cost, less government intrusion, avid use of technologies that will allow healthcare providers to spend less hours doing paperwork and more time caring for patients, expanding the role of telemedicine when appropriate and with guidelines for effective care.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Strict vetting of anyone and everyone entering into this country-and building strong barriers-walls, whatever terminology you wish to use while working closely with our bordering countries to ensure that terrorists are not able to enter our country via Mexico or Canada. Cybersecurity should scan for terroristic dialouge across the social media and act quickly to validate the nature of the source. It is better to err on chasing a lead to find it benign than not chasing it and get caught in another 911 situation. Ensuring people are aware that Terrorists do not fit a specific stereotype or look-they could be anyone and that people should be empowered to report suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agencies or homeland defense.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

There are circumstances where we might want people to immigrate. If there are certain skill-sets needed to improve our economy, we should entice immigrants with the understanding, if they decide to stay they will need to persue citizenship. This is a discussion about people that enter the country or remain in the country illegally- against the laws of our land. There are cities throughout the nation, including Massachusetts, who do not follow our immigration laws and declare Sanctuary City Status that make it impossible for local law enforcement to work with federal immigration officials. In addition, it makes it impossible to not spend taxpayer money on illegal immigration. If immigration officials get around sanctuary status, we find ourselves having to pay to deport, detain and maintain returning criminals and drug traffickers who manage to find their way in and out to wreak more havoc on our communities and bring harm to our citizens

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was a Colonel in the Air Force -the Core Values are Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in all we do and I live by those. I believe Integrity and honesty-doing the right thing even when no one is looking is the utmost sign of a strong character. It takes courage to do what's right, we all human. I have been told I am respected because I handle hard questions head on and though my answers are not always what the receiver wants to hear -I will deliver the message truthfully-if the situation calls for empathy-I will deliver that message with kindness but it will be delivered in truth. I have always had a strong moral compass-although I haven't always followed true north like most teenagers and young adults investigating the adult world. I never lost sight of where I should be and I always came back with more conviction. Raised Catholic, my parents lived simply as good honest people, as we grew, we always knew the right thing to do.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am definitely a fiscal conservative, I managed all the resources for Networks of Military Medical facilities which were 100% taxpayer funded. I thought about my parents and my neighbors back home-this was their taxpayer money and I owed them the accountability to spend it wisely. For my effective management of the budget, I was allowed to move monies to fund new programs. I have a non-restricted License to Carry. I support the Second Amendment. The Commonwealth of MA is where liberty/freedom was fought against English raiding the Patriot armories. Arms are more a part of the MA culture than any other State in the Country and yet our regulations are pretty strict. I have served with every culture, race, sex, sexual orientation, socio-economic status- they all loved this country and would die for our liberties. As their leader, I respect their personal lifestyle choices. I am an animal advocate, supporting several local rescue groups. I am a vegetarian.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I was selected as the Outstanding Women Veteran of the Year for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Unsung Heroine of the Year and an Appointed member by the Governor to the Governor's Advisory Council on Veteran Services. I am a life member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS. I speak regularly as a featured guest in Cities and Towns throughout MA for Memorial Day, Veteran's Day and POW-MIA events in particular to speak on Women in the Military. I am an advocate and role model for all women. I was a Commander of hundreds of personnel twice in my career and the Executive Medical Officer a large medical network in Washington DC. I have prepared testimony for Congress on Healthcare and Medical Information Technology Systems. I raised my son as a single mom, he is now 29 , lives in Texas with his wife Emily. I have a very spoiled 3-legged cat named Taz. I am a Notary, Justice of the Peace and an Ordained Minister.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The restrictions the Commonwealth of MA has in place are strong enough. I would not support legislation to make those laws more restrictive. The biggest threat to public safety today is not supporting our Police and Law Enforcement and taking Resource Officers out of schools. Transforming our public safety organizations to serve our communities better requires more funding for social workers, crisis counselors and drug and alcohol specialists as an integral part of the Law Enforcement Team.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Rebounding from COVID-19. Americans are Resilient. Rebuilding the economy has got to take priority over everything. The best thing Congress can do to help our economy rebound is to cut government red tape and repeal job-killing regulations. Small businesses need to be freed and financially incentivized to create jobs if we are going to have a rapid recovery. Protecting Working Families who are the working class heroes by reducing the hundreds of unfunded federal mandates that take money away from our paychecks in the form of higher state and local taxes. Our tax code should reward our families’ success through hard work, sound investing, and prudent spending with lower taxes, credits, and deductions. Growing Small Business - the Cornerstone of the American Dream Support incentive programs like community development block grants, low interest loans, tax incentives, and lowering regulatory burdens that hamper our businesses and cost time and money.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I feel many use this term without fully understanding the definition-prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. Color is never mentioned and there are many races in the United States. I believe any group that attempts to create a division between people by the use of fear, intimidation or violent acts is a threat to our domestic security. I believe that any individual who at the root of their religious beliefs have a requirement to harm Americans or to purposefully destroy or degrade those things this country is founded on such as life, liberty, freedom and opportunity are a threat to domestic security and should be treated as such. Those who share harmful and violent ideals as part of their culture or religion from outside are never welcome in America. Our government should enforce denial and make sure our borders are secure.
