Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None; although I am not heartless and am sympathetic to the issue of when a mother's life is at stake during delivery. However, stating that, I do believe God is in control at all times and abortion is wrong at any time.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Lifting the maximum taxable earnings figure Switching the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) measure from the current Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) to the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E). OR Instead of the CPI-W, the Republicans prefer switching to the Chained CPI. Raising the full retirement age to reflect a steady increase in life expectancies over the past couple of decades. Eliminating the taxation of benefits. Do a thorough overhaul of the budget and cut spending where it is absolutely not needed. There are many programs that are unnecessary and take away from Social Security. Cutting the fat and removing the pork will go a long way in guaranteeing SS benefits for future generations. This is a bipartisan approach that can have a meaningful long term solution to SS for future generations.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

During mark up and appropriations, I will look for items that are not essential, and propose cuts to programs which are under utilized and not needed. There are far too many to name but it is essential to cut regulations, departments and programs that are bloating the budget.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

We currently have programs like the GI Bill for those who serve our Country to help pay for their college education. Other than that, I do not believe taxpayers should help pay off existing student loans.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

We live in a constitutional republic rather than a theocracy and that is for good reason. State sanctioned churches become puppets of the government. Under such circumstances, the edicts of fallible man take precedence over the inspired teachings of Scripture. When the state heads the church, the integrity of the gospel is easily compromised. Likewise, civil servants living on tax dollars are unfit for serving as pastors, for their loyalties are divided between the One who calls them and the other who feeds them. Such compromises do not belong in the pulpit. Let the government build roads and infastructure, and let Christ build His church.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need serious and honest healthcare reform. I would work to bring in major stake holders and ask them to be part of the solution. I would be the stalwart steward and think and play devil's advocate for the people, given that in this day and age, politics are at play in the healthcare world. I believe it is Congress's duty to do a complete healthcare reform that would make private insurance accessible, affordable and adequate for all.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Reform and enforce the Immigration Laws, support and enforce our Border Patrol and Control, continue to build a strong part of our military that monitors the factions of Islamic extremist groups, remind & educate the public of the Judeo Christian Values our country was founded upon

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who wish to work, contribute, and become American, as my parents did and many other parents did with their families. Those who will put America and her agenda first before their previous home country. If one has a clear background (no history of violence or terrorism) then come for the American Dream, work hard, respect our laws, and enjoy all she has to offer.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in our country's right to religious freedom. That being said, I have a strong faith in the Bible and align with Christianity of the New Testament. I have a personal relationship with God and believe my salvation comes from my faith and trust in Christ alone. I do not align with any particular denomination of the Christian faith, as I believe the Bible is enough and no other man made doctrine is needed. I am a non-denominational, Bible believing Christian.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

As a Nye County Commissioner I voted against the county budget when the budget was bloated and worked to reduce expenditures to save tax payer dollars. I voted to make Nye County a Second Amendment Sanctuary County to protect our Second Amendment Freedoms. I am on the record in County Commission meetings speaking out AGAINST sanctuary cities. My parents are LEGAL immigrants and I have spoken strongly about the need for Immigration Reform and enforcement - if my family can do it legally, so can others. I'm on the record speaking about how I do not believe in giving a hand out, but rather a hand up. I practice this in my private life by choosing to give participants in our local drug court a job, as well as employing persons with felonies, as I believe that is the best way for me to give that hand up. If the private sector would do more of this, we could eliminate a lot of social programs that bloat our federal and state budget due to the high recitivisim rate.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I’m a product of the American Dream. My parents are proud immigrants from Sicily and Brazil. I was born in Jersey, and have been in Nevada for over 25 years, growing up in both urban and suburban Las Vegas, and now residing in rural Nevada for 13 years. During that time, I’ve been poor, working as a kid and a young man to help put food on the table. I’ve been a bus boy, a server, worked on cars, picked up side jobs, and eventually I saved up and started my own business, a restaurant, that has been running strong for over 13 years now. The very definition of the American Dream. I’m not your typical politician. I haven’t been meticulously planning each stage of my political career. I’ve been working, paying bills, putting food on the table for my family and my employees. I know what it means to work hard every day to make ends meet & these are the personal experiences I will take to Congress to represent the hard working people from all walks of life in Nevada.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Our Constitution clearly states that the 2nd Amendment "shall not be infringed upon". There has been an erosion of the people's rights on the 2A over time. Today we should look not to restrict but to empower the people by passing National CCW Reciprocity.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Concealed Carry Weapons Reciprocity - a person's Driver's license is good throughout the country, so should their concealed carry permit be. No taxes on tips earned for workers. Move Nuclear Waste Policy Act forward and or funding Yucca Mtn.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is used to bully American views backward creating a separation, a gap that allows terrorism and domestic threats to slip into our Country. We must be steadfast in the face of racism, otherwise our country is at stake.
