Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

1) Threat to the life of the mother - and she should be able to choose to take the risk. 2) If the baby is not going to survive due to medical issues. 3) Severe birth defects preventing a whole life - please note, I am not talking about things like intellectual disability or Down's syndrome - I'm thinking of kids that will grow up in a wheel chair unable to care for themselves. 4) In cases of rape or incest.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The money allocated to this program should never be used for anything else. Money borrowed from it must be returned immediately. I don't know that privatization is a good idea - while it would put the program in the hands of the people, markets are volatile.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

A lot of federal agencies could be abolished, and their powers returned to the states - such as the Department of Education and Environmental Protection Agency to name a few.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None* I have student loans. So do a lot of Americans. I signed that paperwork knowing full well I'd be repaying the loans, and that was a factor when I decided which schools I wanted to attend and what degree program I chose to pursue. Americans need to take responsibility for their debts - and be more responsible. *I believe it is acceptable to help people who were victims of fraudulent institutions.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

There can be no law or procedure requiring anyone to be a member or adherent of any religion. Religion should not prevent or exclude anyone from participation or receiving services. It should not limit the speech of people employed by the government.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Health insurance should be a competitive business - the only thing I want to see the government mandate is that people pre-existing conditions can't be denied coverage.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Maintain a strong military abroad and secure BOTH borders. The Mexican border should be secured by a wall that is patrolled by National Guard, state militia volunteers, and private security companies, using drones and other advanced technology to detect incursion. Force must be authorized. The TSA does little to prevent terror - we should take a look at Israel's methods. We should maintain working relationships with major world powers to contain and eradicate Al Qaeda, ISIS, etc. We should continue to strike preemptively when the activities of terrorists are discovered. Audit, investigate prosecute, and remove organizations in the United States that are suspected to have assisted terrorism.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who have skills Americans lack - but we need to make sure to hire Americans first - especially in our tech and IT industries. H1-B's should be heavily restricted. These people should have clean backgrounds and be able to prove they will not be a drain on our welfare system - they should have a sponsor.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, and I believe in God. Jesus died for our sins. I don't regularly attend church. When I do, I prefer to visit Hillside, or Paramount Baptist, and am open to trying new churches. I have no preferred denomination, and prefer learning, preaching and discussion to worship music. I had a close friend, a chaplain, who taught me that I needed Jesus in my life, and showed me the way - but he later committed suicide. I struggle to regularly attend. Some of this is memories, and some of it is work and family needs that have to be taken care of.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe that the Government ought to stay out of our lives, and out of our wallets. I support border security - and think President Trump's plan is the best shot. E-Verify becoming mandatory will help encourage illegal aliens to leave. I have been involved with the Republican Party in Potter County for the past three years, as a volunteer at their events, and as a precinct chair. Prior to that, I've voted Republican in every primary and general election since I turned 18.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No. I have absolutely no criminal history and no history of any kind of misconduct.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a regular citizen running for office to represent our district. I am presently a high school teacher, and have also worked in corrections, security, and retail - both as a worker and manager. I'm in this race because I think it's time to stop letting wealthy people and Washington insiders decide how things are going to be - they don't have the interests of the average citizen at heart - and that shows when they aren't a part of the community. I promise to be accessible, and hold events all over our district in the evenings and on weekends, so that voters can attend and have their voices heard.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. People who follow the law are not the problem - restricting their rights does not affect criminals. In fact, if more law-abiding citizens were armed, there would probably be less crime.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Balance the budget Make E-Verify mandatory Combat fraudulent welfare/benefits claims

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racist speech and expression are protected speech, although in poor taste. I believe that racism is overall on the decline in our nation. Existing hate crime legislation should be enforced uniformly, and what we have in place is enough. Most people are not racist, and racist organizations are not the ones out committing terror attacks. We have more to worry about from cowards like Antifa.
