Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When the potential mother (or potential parents, if applicable) elect to proceed with one. The matter is TOTALLY OUTSIDE the purview of ANY government.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The narratives of jihadi should be countered and overwhelmed at every turn. This requires strong cooperation from WITHIN Muslim communities generated by active engagement on the part of every Imam. We can engage our universities for this as well. The key is intentionality. ROBUST counter-terrorism intelligence must be maintained. That mandates international partnering in the effort.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Humankind's transcendent essence (our own "divinity" or "soul"), as manifested by the dignity of every human life.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

People are spiritual beings undergoing a "human experience." That requires a Creator because spirituality cannot happen by itself, nor can it evolve from carbon-based sources. Cosmic law in itself is "spiritual." It, too, requires Creation. I am of the zen Buddhist tradition by which I strive to reach a state of perfect union with the universe and its Creator. Buddhistic tenets overlap neatly with my Judaeo-Christian values. Treat others as you wish to be treated; strive earnestly to do good and be of service.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My spiritual life and beliefs remove me from definition. People who know me have verified this (with some amusement). Politically and economically I call myself a REAL (proactive, pragmatic) CONSERVATIVE. I aim to SAVE--conserve--vital elements in American Life. On social matters, I believe people should do what is right for themselves, unless it counters public safety. I stay in lanes only when I'm driving or bowling.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

This one is easy because the answer is obvious. Even in the U. S., our installing universal healthcare insurance (the "single-payer" system) is inevitable. The sooner we recognize that reality and act upon it effectively, the better for all--and I do mean ALL. The problems lie in equitable management and keeping costs down. We have the expertise for this; we can draw on the experiences of other countries that are ahead of us.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Whatever is required to advance and maintain the common good, the commonweal. Government and private enterprise both require collaboration, partnerships. Both work best when all levels of government are limited, even minimized. Governments (all levels) can incentivize. Free markets lead the way. The U. S. has mostly thrived with a "mixed economy" since the early 20th century. It works.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The latest changes need to be revisited in a year or two so we can see where to modify the code. For sure, it is not simplified enough. And any expert can find loopholes (especially in patriating overseas business profits) that should be eliminated because we need the revenue.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Incentivize investment; make investing as attractive as feasible--taking care that public health AND the environment are protected.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The social-security FUND--which is a separate repository of monies--should never get tapped by Congress. Its capital level should be vigilantly maintained. We must establish what that level should be. When it drops below a predetermined point, that would trigger an automatic appropriation by Congress to bring the fund back to acceptable strength.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Nobody--myself included--is thus "qualified." Based on my motivation for standing for election, I can offer to do my best to foster and fight for my platform, which is encapsulated by my campaign motto: "SMARTER SPENDING, CLEAN ENERGY, NEW BUSINESS, NO EXCUSES."

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

I'm at Try 402-261-6189

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

My primary motivation in standing for the U. S. Senate is love: love for Nebraska and our country and the world and all the people in it. I wouldn't do this otherwise. (This is God's truth.) "If you don't like the news, MAKE news." My secondary motive is fear: fear for our land now and in the future, fear for our country's financial health, and fear for sustainable futures for our children and their children. Naturally I'm also moved by an undercurrent of anger catalyzed by most of the issues presented here.
