The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.
The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.
I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.
I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe abortion should be allowed where the citizens want it. I believe this should be a local and community decision, not one determined by the federal government and with federal funds. My position is one of personal "pro-life" but I do not think the government should force my viewpoint on everyone and should stay out of it.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our Founders defined the powers of our government in the government in order to establish a new type of government - a republic. In a republic, both the citizens and the elected officials work together to govern the country. The founders knew that a pure democracy did not work. They also knew that rule by a monarch or small group did not work. They believed the government that governs best, governs least and that communities can best lead their own destinies.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My beliefs and values can be summarized very simply: As long as someone is not hurting anyone or taking their stuff, they ought to be allowed to do as they please, without restriction. This idea emphasizes freedom and encourages individuals to live their lives as they choose while still respecting their fellow man. As far as my religious and spiritual beliefs, such opinions should not be included in government profiles. Our country has a principle of separation of church and state and I do not believe that any statesman's personal relationship with a god or gods belongs in government. Religion does not determine how a person will govern.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I am a Libertarian. We are not conservative or liberal. Such over-simplification of viewpoints is detrimental to electing qualified people for office. I am for individual rights and freedoms at all times as I've been quoted as stating in several interviews. At times, my viewpoints may appear traditionally conservative, such as when it comes to 2nd Amendment Rights and lifting economic restrictions on small businesses. Other times, my viewpoints may appear traditionally liberal such as my thoughts on ending the drug war and marriage equality.

Additional comment from candidate:
This year, consider making a change. The corrupt politicians of both the Democrat and Republican parties have held office for far too long while not representing your interests. If my viewpoints do not resonate with you, I would still encourage you to look for and vote for a third party in order to help fix our country and to send a clear message to the establishment that you are not happy with where we have been lead so far and that changes must happen.
