Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I grew up in the church as the son of a minister. I accepted Christ as my personal savior at age 10 and consider myself a born again Christian. I am currently a member of a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) congregation. I believe in the doctrine as outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Apostle's Creed.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Additional comment from candidate:

We are in the midst of a cultural war being fought on many battlefields. My primary opponent and I are on the same side in this war. We share the same strategy, namely to protect religious freedom. However, we differ in tactics. As past battles over traditional marriage have showed, there is a time to play offense and a time to play defense. Like it or not, public opinion is part of fighting on a political battlefield. The "my way or the highway" line of attack not only doesn't work in that environment, it is counter-productive. Furthermore, Jesus calls on us not to focus on the specks in other people's eyes. We should look first to loving our God and our neighbors. Using that approach, not only might we prevent more judicial over-reach in this area, we are more likely to win others to His kingdom.
