1. Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

18. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

I believe it is true that "Absolute power corrupts absolutely". The separation of powers limits the natural progression of unchecked power that leads to tyranny. Even the absolute power of a majority of citizens in a "Pure Democracy" was rejected by our Founders for the more temperate system of a "Republic".

19. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God grants our inalienable rights. The Constitution is the law of our land. Congress makes law and the Supreme Court confirms those laws are consistent with the Constitution. When they disagree Congress can propose Constitutional Amendments.

20. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Only for surgery required to save the life of a mother where aborting an innocent child is not the objective of the surgery. Rape and incest are tragic abuses that call for an exceptionally compassionate response. But an innocent child conceived by that abuse should not be condemned to death. We must protect the weak as well as the strong or someday none of our rights will be safe from abuse.

21. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe the amazing design of life and our planet is inexplicable without acknowledging "intelligent design" by a personal Creator. Jesus Christ demonstrated through his life, miracles, fulfilled prophecy and the impact of his life through history that he was miraculously God who became a man. As a man, he was able to sacrifice himself to redeem us and our planet from sin. My belief that I need redemption inspires me to remain humble, and that humility includes my tolerance and deep respect for those who don't share my religious views. My belief that God redeemed me inspires me to live with gratitude and to serve others. My belief in inalienable rights inspires me to defend individual liberty and to oppose intrusive over-reach by big government.
