While hopeful that mankind's nature is good America's Founders understood that power often corrupted many. It was this premise based on their experiences from the home lands they fled and the colonization years they experienced that led them to the limitation and separation of power.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.
