16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Our founders knew the importance our Constitution would have later in our Nation's future. The founders were careful to ensure that our country would not be subject to the same laws and abuse of power we once were subject to. By carefully defining the constitution as well as separating and limiting the powers of the government, our founders further protected the citizens of the United States and effectively gave power to the citizens to protect themselves from an overreaching government.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.
