18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at the age of seven. I was raised in Christian home with parents who taught me the principles of the Bible as a way of life. I'm always amazed when i think about the living God of the universe loving me so much that he sacrificed His only Son to atone for my sins and enable me to spend eternity with Him. I believe as Christians we are sanctified for His purposes on this earth. I seek to serve God in everything I do, including my efforts to run for public office. My daily prayers are that I will bring honor and glory to God. My Christian beliefs form the basis of my social and fiscal paradigms. I believe in the absolute sanctity of human life "from womb to tomb" and I seek to restore that principle into the moral fabric of Texas. I've experienced deep adversity through the loss of my first wife, but I know God is THE God of love and never takes more from us than He returns through the joy of serving Him.
