RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Organizations such as Planned Parenthood provide essential healthcare services, including cancer screenings, contraception, STI testing and treatment, and reproductive healthcare, particularly for patients who may have limited access to other providers. Public funding, including Title X grants, should support these eligible healthcare services. Decisions about funding should be based on the quality and accessibility of care provided, not political efforts to restrict reproductive freedom.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe decisions about abortion should be made by a woman in consultation with her doctor, not controlled by politicians or the government. Every pregnancy involves unique personal and medical circumstances, and the government should not impose a one-size-fits-all decision. Abortion care should remain legal and accessible, guided by the patient’s informed consent, her physician’s medical judgment, and established standards of care.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Disagree
I respect that people hold deeply personal beliefs about when life begins. However, I do not believe the government should impose one religious or personal belief on everyone. A woman should have the legal right to make decisions about her pregnancy in consultation with her doctor, based on her health, circumstances, and values. Protecting life also means supporting women, children, and families through accessible healthcare, education, childcare, housing, and economic opportunity.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Disagree
I disagree with imposing a government mandate that would interfere with fertility treatments such as IVF. Decisions involving embryos should be handled thoughtfully and ethically by patients, their families, and medical professionals, not politicians. People facing infertility should be able to make deeply personal medical decisions based on their circumstances and their doctor’s guidance.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
I disagree. The Comstock Act is an outdated 19th-century law that should not be used to create a nationwide restriction on medication abortion or interfere with lawful medical care. Decisions about reproductive healthcare should be made by patients and qualified medical professionals, not dictated by politicians through the misuse of an antiquated statute. We should not misuse government power to control women, criminalize healthcare providers, and undermine access to reproductive care.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I support a minimum wage that keeps pace with the cost of living and rewards people fairly for their work. At the same time, we must recognize that small and locally owned businesses often operate on narrow margins and cannot absorb sudden increases.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
Free enterprise and private-property rights are important foundations of a strong economy. They encourage innovation, investment, entrepreneurship, and job creation. However, a successful market also requires fair competition, consumer and worker protections, responsible regulations, and accountability for businesses that harm people or exploit the system. The government should support small businesses and entrepreneurs while ensuring that economic growth creates opportunities for everyone.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Increase accountability for ESA vouchers: Establish stronger safeguards against fraud, improper purchases, and payments to unqualified providers while ensuring taxpayer dollars are used for legitimate educational purposes. 2. Evaluate programs based on results: Review programs regularly, eliminate unnecessary duplication. 3. Modernize government operations: Replace outdated technology and inefficient paper-based processes while coordinating purchasing and services across agencies.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, separation of church and state means that government must protect every person’s freedom to practice a religion or no religion at all without favoring, promoting, or imposing any particular faith. People should be free to allow their religious values to guide their personal lives, but government policies must serve everyone and be grounded in the Constitution, equal protection, and the public good. We need to protect our freedom and our democracy.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Religious freedom is a fundamental American right, but it should not be used to justify discrimination against others. Businesses that choose to serve the public should follow laws requiring equal treatment regardless of a customer’s race, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected status. Reasonable accommodations should be considered for an individual employee’s sincerely held beliefs when they do not deny another person equal access or create an undue burden.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B) Government-funded health insurance should be available to anyone who wants it, while preserving private healthcare options.Healthcare should be affordable and accessible to every American. A strong public option would provide coverage for people who need or prefer it, while allowing individuals who are satisfied with private or employer-sponsored insurance to keep their plans. We must also protect and strengthen Medicare, Medicaid, and coverage for preexisting conditions while lowering costs.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Disagree
I disagree with maintaining a government database that personally identifies people by their medical conditions. Individuals should not have to fear that sensitive health information could be misused, exposed, or used to discriminate against them. Government and public health researchers may collect anonymized, aggregated data to understand healthcare costs, improve treatment, and allocate resources effectively, but this must be accompanied by privacy protections and cybersecurity safeguards.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
I agree. The Chinese Communist Party presents serious challenges involving military expansion, cyberattacks, intellectual-property theft, surveillance, economic coercion, and threats to critical infrastructure. The United States must respond by strengthening cybersecurity, protecting sensitive technology and research, securing critical supply chains, enforcing fair-trade rules, and working closely with our democratic allies.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The United States’ relationship with Israel is important because of our longstanding diplomatic, economic, security, and intelligence partnership. Israel has the right to exist and to protect its people from terrorism, and the United States should remain committed to its security. Our friendship must also allow us to speak honestly when we disagree. American support should reflect our shared democratic values, the protection of civilians, international law, and accountability.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Neutral
I support policies that allow local law enforcement to focus on preventing crime and protecting the entire community rather than performing the federal government’s immigration responsibilities. Victims and witnesses should be able to report crimes, cooperate with police, and seek emergency services without fear that doing so will lead to deportation. That trust makes communities safer. This does not mean shielding people who commit serious or violent crimes from accountability.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
States, local communities, educators, and parents should have significant authority over curriculum and school operations, but eliminating the U.S. Department of Education would weaken essential protections and resources for students.I support reducing unnecessary bureaucracy and giving educators greater flexibility, but we should improve the department’s effectiveness and accountability, not eliminate the federal commitment to educational access and opportunity.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
Foreign governments must not be allowed to purchase influence over American schools, control curriculum, suppress academic freedom, or gain access to sensitive research. Educational institutions should be required to disclose foreign funding, and funding connected to national-security risks or attempts to influence instruction should be prohibited. However, I would not support a blanket ban that could eliminate legitimate international research partnerships and cultural exchanges, that benefit us
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Agree
Parents and guardians have the primary responsibility for guiding their children’s education, healthcare, and overall well-being. Schools, healthcare professionals, and government agencies should communicate openly with families, respect their involvement, and provide them with accurate information so they can make informed decisions. Parental rights must also be balanced with a child’s safety, individual rights, and access to appropriate education and medically necessary care.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Disagree
I disagree with categorically labeling a family’s support for a transgender child as child abuse. Social steps such as using a child’s chosen name, clothing, or hairstyle do not by themselves constitute abuse. Families should be able to support their children without politicians criminalizing them.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
People and religious institutions have the freedom to define sacred marriage according to their faith, and the government should not force a church or clergy member to perform a marriage that violates those beliefs. However, civil marriage is a legal institution that provides important rights and responsibilities. Religious freedom protects each person’s right to practice their faith; it does not grant the government authority to impose a single religious definition of marriage on everyone.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
If expansion is considered, it must include strong consumer protections, responsible-gaming requirements, safeguards against underage gambling, and dedicated funding for addiction prevention and treatment. It must also respect existing tribal-state gaming agreements and ensure that the public, not only private operators, benefits from the revenue generated. Economic development is important, but it should never come at the expense of families or vulnerable residents.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised Catholic and continue to consider myself Catholic. I was baptized in the Church and participated in the Catholic sacraments and traditions that shaped my upbringing, including First Holy Communion and Confirmation. My faith has taught me the importance of compassion, service, forgiveness, humility, social justice, and recognizing the dignity of every person. These values guide how I treat others and approach public service. I also respect people of all faiths, as well as those who do not follow a particular religion, because religious freedom is fundamental to our country.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
I agree. An eligible voter should not be denied the right to vote solely because they do not possess a photo ID. However, every voter’s identity and eligibility must still be verified through secure methods, such as approved non-photo documentation, signature verification, or the provisional-ballot process. Election security and voter access are not competing goals we can and must accomplish both. If government requires a particular form of identification, it should be provided free of charge.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
I disagree with awarding reparations solely on the basis of a person’s race. However, our country must honestly acknowledge and address the lasting consequences of slavery, segregation, discriminatory housing policies, and other government-sanctioned injustices. Addressing historical injustice should focus on repairing demonstrated harm and expanding opportunity, not simply categorizing people by race.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
This issue affects a relatively small number of athletes, yet politicians often use it to divide communities and distract us from challenges affecting millions of families. We can protect competitive fairness while also treating transgender people with compassion and respect. Those principles do not have to be in conflict.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Agree
Human-caused climate change is a serious global threat, and Arizona is already experiencing its effects through extreme heat, prolonged drought, wildfire risks, water insecurity, and rising energy costs. We need urgent yet practical action that expands clean, reliable energy, conserves water, modernizes the electrical grid, reduces pollution, and strengthens our communities against extreme weather. Arizona can also benefit economically by attracting renewable-energy manufacturing & creating jobs
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
No single energy source can responsibly meet all of our growing electricity needs.Nuclear power is among the most reliable sources of continuous, carbon-free electricity and should remain an important part of Arizona’s energy portfolio. All the above.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I consider myself a moderate who is guided by practical solutions rather than rigid party lines. I believe the best idea should win, whether it comes from a Republican, Democrat, or independent. My responsibility as an elected official would be to listen, evaluate the facts, bring people together, and support policies that produce the best results for the people I represent.Public service should be about improving people’s lives, not protecting a political party or advancing an ideological agenda
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The primary goal of the criminal justice system should be to keep communities safe while administering justice fairly and consistently. That means holding people accountable, protecting victims, respecting due process, and ensuring that consequences are proportionate to the offense. The system should also reduce future crime. For individuals who can safely return to society, rehabilitation, including education, job training, mental-health treatment, and substance-use services, can help.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
The government has a fundamental responsibility to protect children from online grooming, trafficking, sexual exploitation, and abuse. That requires adequately funding law enforcement, strengthening coordination across jurisdictions, holding technology companies accountable when they knowingly facilitate exploitation, and ensuring platforms provide effective safety tools and reporting systems.Protecting children online requires cooperation among families, schools, law enforcement, government.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Neutral
The United States Constitution and duly enacted federal, state, and local laws must remain the governing legal framework of our country. No religious code, whether Islamic, Christian, Jewish, or from any other faith, should override constitutional rights, equal protection, due process, or American law. Our country should neither establish religious law nor discriminate against people because of their faith. This is what religious liberty and separation of church and state require.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support the Second Amendment and the rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners. I also believe those rights come with a responsibility to protect our children, families, and communities from preventable violence.I support universal background checks for firearm sales, closing loopholes that allow prohibited individuals to obtain weapons, and keeping guns away from violent felons, domestic abusers, and people who have been found by a court to present an immediate danger to others/themselves
