Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

As a Conservative, I believe that life begins at conception and that abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood are being disingenuous in their promotion of abortion as 'healthcare'. As less than 4% of abortions are designated as 'medically necessary', no taxpayer funds should be spent on these elective procedures.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I support the current Idaho legislation as it pertains to abortion access.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
That there should be no Nationally recognized church or religion. The idea is never mentioned in the Constitution but is cited in a letter by Thomas Jefferson and the idea has been widely recognized as a foundational principle. The wall of separation between the two was intended to ensure that the legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof'.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
I believe that the Unites States' relationship with Israel is a complicated one. On one hand, I believe that the people of Israel have the right to exist and live in peace. On the other hand, I do not believe that it is the obligation of the United States to continually finance their government and military operations, including placing our men and women in uniform in harm's way on behalf of another nation.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I believe that Medicaid and Medicare are broken programs and that a plan to phase them out should be put into effect. Catastrophic plans should once again be made available for otherwise healthy individuals and those who make personal life choices that result in higher healthcare costs should bear the brunt of their own decisions. Neither patients nor providers should be subjected to the decisions of insurance company profits and no American should ever be forced to purchase a product.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

As useful as such data may be in determining the long-term costs related to various conditions, the risks to privacy are too great. Government data bases are often the targets of hackers and breaches of such data can lead to the exposure of highly sensitive personal information. Such a collection of data could also be used in ways unrelated to the intended purpose. To me, the risks outweigh the potential rewards.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe that all wage laws are antithetical to a free market. Wages are most effective for both parties when they are market-determined rather than set by governmental entities.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1) Cutting duplicate programs e.g. having 3 separate councils for the deaf and blind. They should be consolidated to improve communication and services. 2) All DEI initiatives and programs should be eliminated entirely and immediately as all they do is shift focus from individual capabilities to immutable characteristics and identity. 3) Eliminating state funded commissions for groups based upon demographics and culture. We are one Idaho, not pockets of special interests. 4) Cut travel costs.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

I am 100% against any and all 'sanctuary city' policies and would move to immediately defund any city that supports such policies. There is a right way to enter/remain in the United States and that process should be followed without exception.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Since its inception, the Department of Education has done more to damage the quality of education outcomes in the United States. I believe that the government closest to the people is best and these decisions should be made at the State and local level.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Any time that monies are involved in something, there is a degree of influence. No other government should have any influence over the education of our population.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system should be to punish criminals and seek to make whole their victims, while protecting society from further victimization.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

I believe it is ultimately the responsibility of the parents to protect their children from online predators. It should be the goal of the government to help provide parents with the resources and education needed to help protect their children. The primary focus of the government should be to provide resources and to prosecute violators to the fullest extent of the law.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Sharia law is incompatible with western laws and values. I do not see Islam as a religion, but as a Trojan Horse being used in an attempt to overthrow our system of government.

I was raised in a Christian household and have considered myself a Christian Conservative for the majority of my adult life. I believe that our Country was founded on Christian principles and it is the job of every American to uphold those principles. As John Adams to eloquently stated "the foundation of national morality must be laid in private families."
