QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
All life comes from God and is precious - This is a moral issue and strongly held belief. I support the laws of the State of Alabama and would do everything in my power to protect those laws.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Neutral
If you don't support the destruction, then what? This is a moral issue that should be decided by the donor. I support the laws of the State of Alabama and would do everything in my power to protect those laws.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
This is a moral issue that should be decided by the mother - still a personal, moral decision. I support the laws of the State of Alabama and would do everything in my power to protect those laws.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
No federal funds. I support the laws of the State of Alabama and would do everything in my power to protect those laws.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Choose not to answer
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Private citizens and personal business owners should not be required to do something that contradicts their deeply held beliefs but can't refuse service (when no other service is available) based on race, religion, or sexual orientation.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Federal Government cannot favor a particular religion or denomination over another - It cannot coerce religious activity.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. This should be based on the idea that America is a nation founded and led on Biblical principles. We should not be getting into conflicts that simply garners economic gain for America.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
You can't argue a position that says they are not an economic threat. We have been flooded by cheap products that "we" have demanded every time we go into a big box store. When we see our technology show up in cheaper products, we see the proof. The problem is that American's, for the most part, depend on these cheap products to help "make ends meet". If we want to buy "American Made" products, recognize we will likely pay more - Why? Labor is higher.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. I believe that God that will bless those nations that bless and defend Israel.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Strongly Agree
Radical Islam (distinct from mainstream practice) has stated their primary objective is to destroy the US. They reject democracy and Western influence.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. To be clear, this is not free healthcare, it would still be paid through by the taxpayer, but it would be a step forward to eliminate greed in the current system.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
The government does not need a database of individuals to forecast future spending - any economic analyst can tell you that.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
If we want to infuse monies (monies we would need to borrow) into the current economy, very low interest rates for first time homebuyers would be "good debt" that will ultimately build wealth.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Disagree
Taxes should be paid as a percentage of earnings set by the federal government. Low earners should pay a lower percentage of earnings based on income. Higher earners should pay a higher percentage based on a higher income.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
According to the recent Congressional Budget Office report, 100% of discretionary spending is being borrowed at a rate of $2 Trillion per year. This is unsustainable.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Continue to investigate social programs (mandatory spending) to identify fraud. Publicly hold elected officials accountable for spending that is in support of their personal PAC (special interest) monies received. Complete overhaul of healthcare system. Future spending projections are unsustainable.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone - Follow the legal immigration process that is in place today.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Disagree
This is not a matter of local or state jurisdiction. Non-documented folks in the US today should be identified. I also support a "fast track" to citizenship for individuals who have been in the US and are NOT placing a burden on law enforcement or social programs. It's all good to remove convicted felons and those that are burden on society, but we also need a plan to legally assimilate those folks that are left.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Leave to local and state.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Yes, common sense. Need more money for local law enforcement to investigate and bring charges.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Support 2nd amendment.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I believe that we must work in a non-partisan manner to address the real threats to Americans - The uncontrollable rise in debt and healthcare cost. When the economy collapses, all these social issues we spend so much time debating and dividing America will quickly fall away.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Disagree
Key word is child - this is a moral decision that can be made by an adult who chooses transition, but not for a child.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
Can same sex couples get married? Yes. One-man and one-woman is a deeply held religious belief that I have, it is personal.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that approximately 2,000 years ago, the God of Abraham and Issac came into this world in the body and person of Jesus Christ. If I want to know God's heart, I look at the actions and words of Jesus as documented in the New Testament. I have personally accepted Jesus as the author of my life - I am accountable to Him. I start each morning taking the bread and wine (body and blood of Jesus) and ask that his mercy and grace will flow out of me to everyone I come in contact with - I want my words, eyes, ears, and touch be an outflowing of the real presence of Jesus. My faith affects the way I see folks - Everyone has value, everyone has a need for Jesus, we all experience pain and disappointment, and as such, should be respected.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
The amount of fraud in the voting process has been assessed at a higher rate than what has been proven. Based on public records, this issue is being used for political points.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Common sense. Not even sure why we are debating.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Fossil fuels and nuclear.
