QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

The right to abortion is enshrined in the Washington state constitution. As a man, I am incapable of giving birth and so naturally cannot have an abortion. With this being the case, I do not believe that I should dictate when a woman can have an abortion.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Neutral

I strongly support consulting with a physician prior to taking any chemical abortion drugs. I strongly disagree with any requirement that women must report to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes against their will.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Choose not to answer

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

Euthanasia is acceptable but there are too many weak-minded people who would abuse legalized assisted suicide. You have students enrolled in prestigious universities who miss 1 or more days of class because someone they didn’t like got elected president. This points to a mental health crisis among many of our youth. These are the people who would likely seek a permanent solution to a temporary problem. As a society we should encourage them to deal with an issue, not hide in a coffin.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The market should determine the wage as opposed to government artificially inflating it. Forcing companies to pay more than they can reasonably afford will result in fewer jobs and those holding on to their positions will likely work fewer hours.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

If an entity is to invest PUBLIC funds, then they need to act as a fiduciary. The best interest of the PUBLIC should be their only concern with maximizing the return on our investment being their primary goal. ESG serves as a conflict of interest as its' goal is not to generate more profit.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Only if there is a clear and present danger (i.e. bomb threat, active shooter, etc) and only while the government agents remove the threat and/or confirm that the congregants are no longer in danger. If the government cannot confirm the existence of a threat after investigating a scene, then the church should re-open immediately.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I do not believe that the government, or an employer, should be allowed to require an individual to get certain vaccinations. Schools, particularly those for children grades K-5 should be allowed to require vaccinations.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States’ relationship with Israel is important because it is the only ‘free democracy’ in the middle east. Our interest are aligned with certain goals such as keeping Iran from obtaining weapons grade uranium. They can strike at our common foes and accomplish our shared goal without the United States being drawn into an unnecessary conflict.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

My goddaughters were failing in the public school system. I tutored them free of charge, but they stayed in the public school system. Through middle school and the beginning of high school they remained on the honor roll. Just because the money follows the child doesn’t mean that the child will abandon the public school system. The parent(s) can use the money for a tutor, additional material, etc. while the expenditures are monitored and the money is accounted for.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

The word ‘should’ has no place in this question. No one else SHOULD have the right to make decisions for a parent’s child but one, or both, of the parents.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

There is a separation between church and state which works both ways. The government cannot intrude on the church and vice versa. Many religions hold that marriage is between a man and a woman, but the church cannot impose its’ beliefs on the government. Many government entities have legalized same sex marriages. I understand the legal reasons why many of them have done so and I agree with them.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and a Baptist.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

If you are going to cast a vote, then your identity needs to be confirmed as well as your citizenship.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

The founding fathers of this country, in their great foresight, created the electoral college system so that the most populous states did not ride roughshod over the states with smaller populations, ignoring their concerns. The same issues exist today that existed back then, less populous states would effectively have no voice in federal elections and that has no place in a democratic republic such as ours.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism was not a major issue until Obama brought it back like a bounty hunter returning a runaway slave to massuh. Concerns about Black-White race relations began to increase in 2010 - 2017, going from 17% to 28%. CRT and DEI then took hold, promoting discrimination against White people as part of the anti-racism movement. Discrimination against anyone is wrong, whether they are a protected class or not. Racism is wrong ... PERIOD!

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

The institutions are not fundamentally racist, There are individuals employed in many of these institutions who are racist and wield their power in a manner designed to oppress people of certain races. If you remove them from power, then the institutions can function as they were meant to, meting out decisions impartially.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe that it is coal because of the resistance to building new nuclear power plants. Until such time as we begin building and utilizing nuclear power there is no reliable alternative (i.e. solar, wind, hydro).

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

NO!

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

NO!

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to manage the business of the country, just as a CEO manages the business s/he runs. They are to make sure that our bills are paid. They should implement the will of the people, whether they agree with it or not. They are to protect the people from harm, whether it be from an attack by a foreign power or an invasion by individuals from numerous different countries. The government is the vehicle but it is supposed to be the people that determine its' direction.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Neutral

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There are sufficient restrictions on gun ownership. What is needed is less social justice reform and stricter prosecution of those convicted of violating existing gun laws.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

I believe that teachers who pass psychological examinations and gun training programs should be allowed to carry a firearm on campus.
