QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Disagree
Human life has value and deserves respect, but deeply personal medical decisions should be approached with compassion and made by individuals, families, and medical professionals rather than through broad government mandates. The law should protect people while respecting personal liberty and complex circumstances.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Disagree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Elective abortion decisions should be left to individuals in consultation with their medical providers. Government should not impose a one-size-fits-all rule on deeply personal healthcare decisions. Reasonable medical standards and protections should apply, but decisions should be guided by the person involved, their doctor, and their circumstances.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Healthcare providers should be funded based on the services they provide to patients, not based on political pressure or ideology. Public funding should support access to essential healthcare services, including preventive care, reproductive healthcare, and services that help people make informed medical decisions.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Disagree
The government should not use outdated laws to restrict access to healthcare or interfere with private medical decisions made between patients and their healthcare providers. Decisions about reproductive healthcare should be guided by medical professionals and the individuals involved.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
I support markets, entrepreneurship, and small businesses, but believe they need rules that prevent monopolies, corruption, and exploitation.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Agree
The wealthiest people should not pay less of an effective tax rate than the average American. I've repeatedly argued that the tax burden has shifted onto workers and property owners while wealthy individuals and large corporations often avoid paying their fair share.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
There is a LOT of waste. I have to emphasize cutting waste, corporate giveaways, and unnecessary military spending is a must, not cutting investments in healthcare, education, food or infrastructure.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Eliminate wasteful defense spending and improve Pentagon oversight and auditing. 2. End corporate subsidies and tax loopholes that don't create public value. 3. Modernize government technology and streamline procurement. 4. Reduce healthcare waste by lowering administrative overhead and allowing Medicare to negotiate. 5. Strengthen independent inspectors general and anti-corruption enforcement
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Individuals and businesses should have the freedom to practice their religious beliefs, but that freedom must be balanced with the rights of others and equal treatment under the law. Businesses that serve the public should generally provide services without discrimination, while reasonable accommodations should be considered when no one's fundamental rights are being denied.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state means that government should neither establish nor favor a religion, and every American should be free to practice their faith, or no faith at all, without government interference. Our laws should be based on the Constitution, equal rights, and the public good, not on any one religious doctrine. Protecting this separation safeguards both religious liberty and a government that represents everyone.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B. Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
Patients' medical information should remain private. The government can study disease trends and healthcare costs using anonymized, aggregated data without maintaining identifiable databases of people based on their medical conditions.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
The Chinese Communist Party presents serious challenges to the United States through cyberattacks, intellectual property theft, unfair trade practices, and military expansion. We should protect American workers, technology, and national security while using diplomacy and strategic competition instead of rushing into unnecessary conflicts.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The United States' relationship with Israel is important because Israel is a strategic partner in a critical region and cooperation benefits our security, intelligence, and technology interests. However, strong alliances require honesty and accountability. The United States should support its allies while also promoting human rights, international law, and policies that advance long-term peace and stability.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Agree
Terrorist organizations that use extremist interpretations of Islam to justify violence pose a real national security threat, just as any other form of terrorism does. The United States should focus on protecting Americans, disrupting terrorist networks, and working with allies while avoiding policies that unfairly target peaceful people based on their religion or background.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States should have a secure, fair, and orderly immigration system. People who follow the law, contribute to our communities, reunite with family, seek safety from persecution, or bring needed skills should have a pathway to immigrate. We must secure our borders and enforce immigration laws, while focusing enforcement resources on criminals, traffickers, and those who pose a threat to public safety rather than targeting long-term, peaceful residents.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Agree
Local law enforcement should focus on protecting their communities and building trust with residents. Immigration enforcement should prioritize violent criminals, traffickers, and people who pose a threat to public safety rather than diverting local resources toward peaceful members of the community. At the same time, federal immigration laws should be enforced fairly and responsibly.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
Education is best managed locally, but the federal government has an important role in ensuring equal opportunity, protecting students' rights, supporting students with disabilities, and providing resources where communities need help. The goal should always be improving our schools.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
American education should serve the interests of American students, families, and communities. Foreign governments should not be allowed to influence our schools through direct funding, political pressure, or hidden agendas. Transparency and oversight are necessary to ensure that educational institutions remain independent and focused on providing a quality education.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Disagree
Decisions involving a child's healthcare should be made carefully, with parents, medical professionals, and the child's best interests at the center.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is both a personal commitment and a legal institution. In a country that protects religious freedom and equal treatment under the law, the government should not impose one religious definition of marriage on all citizens. People should be free to practice their faith and define marriage within their traditions, while civil marriage should provide equal legal rights and protections to all Americans.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My spiritual beliefs are rooted in the values of compassion, service, humility, and treating others with dignity and respect. I believe we have a responsibility to care for our neighbors and leave the world better than we found it.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Voter identification is a reasonable safeguard to help ensure that each person is casting their own ballot. At the same time, states should make obtaining identification simple, affordable, and accessible so that eligible citizens are not prevented from voting.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
Policies involving sports, privacy, and safety should be approached thoughtfully and based on the specific situation. Fair competition and protecting people's privacy are important, but broad rules that treat all transgender people the same regardless of circumstances are not the right approach. We should balance fairness, safety, and dignity.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy is one of the most reliable sources of electricity because it provides consistent, carbon-free power with a small footprint. We need a balanced energy strategy that includes nuclear, renewables, storage, and a modernized grid.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
I do not believe the traditional liberal/conservative labels fully describe my views. I support free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and personal responsibility while also believing government has a role in protecting people, ensuring access to healthcare, investing in education, and holding powerful interests accountable. I believe in individual liberty, religious freedom, a strong national defense, and a government focused on practical solutions rather than ideology.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Protecting children from exploitation online is an important responsibility, but solutions must be narrowly focused on preventing abuse and criminal activity. We should not use child safety as a justification for unnecessary government surveillance, mandatory identification for lawful online activity, or restrictions on protected speech. Parents, technology companies, and law enforcement all have roles to play while preserving individual privacy and freedom.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right of law-abiding Americans to own firearms is protected by the Constitution and should not be restricted unnecessarily. The focus should be on enforcing existing laws, prosecuting violent criminals, and addressing the root causes of violence rather than creating additional restrictions that burden responsible gun owners.
