QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund abortion providers. People have different beliefs on this issue, and government should not force citizens to financially support something they fundamentally oppose.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be rare and limited to serious circumstances, particularly when the life or health of the mother is at significant risk or circumstances of sexual assualt. This is not an issue I take lightly, and it should be approached with caution, compassion, and respect for life.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe human life has value and should be protected. At the same time, there are complex medical situations and human rights that require careful consideration, which is why this issue must be handled with both principle and realism.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

Human embryos represent potential life and should be treated with respect. At the same time, this is a complex area involving medical and ethical considerations that require a very thoughtful and balanced policy.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Agree

I support protecting life, but this is ultimately a federal matter. As Governor, my focus would be on ensuring Idaho law is clear, enforceable, and consistent rather than relying on outdated federal statutes to carry that responsibility.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means government should not establish or control religion, and religion should not control government. It does not mean removing faith from public life. People should be free to live and express their beliefs without government interference.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

It means government should not establish or control religion, and religion should not control government. It does not mean removing faith from public life. People should be free to live and express their beliefs without government interference.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The CCP presents real risks across multiple fronts. The United States should protect its infrastructure, technology, and economy while reducing reliance on adversarial supply chains.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a key ally in a volatile region. The relationship supports stability, intelligence sharing, and mutual security interests. Strong alliances help deter larger conflicts and protect long-term national interests.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C - Medicaid and Medicare should remain to protect vulnerable populations, but broader expansion of taxpayer-funded healthcare is not sustainable. We should strengthen access, reduce costs, and rely more on private sector solutions rather than expanding government control.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

People’s medical information is private. Government should not track individuals in a way that risks privacy or opens the door to misuse. We can assess healthcare costs without compromising personal rights.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Mandating higher wages can hurt small businesses and limit entry-level opportunities. I support policies that grow wages naturally through a stronger economy, skill development, and expanded opportunity, not one-size-fits-all mandates.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and private property rights are part of the core foundation of a healthy economy. When people are able to build, invest, and own without excessive interference, it creates opportunity, stability, and long-term growth.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Reduce Medicaid administrative overhead through transparency and audits. Eliminate redundant programs across agencies. Review and remove unnecessary licensing requirements. Improve contract oversight to prevent waste and favoritism. Implement long-term budget discipline to avoid boom-and-bust spending.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

Sanctuary policies create uneven enforcement of the law and undermine public trust. We can support people and maintain compassion without ignoring the rule of law or creating conflicting systems of enforcement.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Education is best handled at the state and local level. Reducing federal control allows communities to build systems that better reflect their needs while maintaining accountability closer to home.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Foreign influence in education creates conflicts of interest and potential security risks. Our education system should remain independent and focused on American interests and values.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal is to protect the public, hold people accountable, and ensure fair treatment under the law. It should focus on safety, justice, and when possible, giving people the opportunity to correct their path.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Protecting children is a fundamental responsibility. As threats evolve online, laws and enforcement should keep pace to ensure their safety.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

U.S. law should be based on the Constitution. Our legal system must remain consistent and not incorporate external legal frameworks.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I’m a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Law-abiding citizens should not be restricted from exercising their rights. The focus should be on enforcing existing laws, targeting violent offenders, and improving mental health response, not adding new restrictions on responsible gun owners.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I’m fiscally conservative and believe in limited government, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. I also take a practical approach to policy and focus on what actually works for Idaho communities.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

I was charged with delivery of marijuana years ago, which was later reduced to a misdemeanor. I took responsibility, completed the requirements, and have built a stable life since. My past does not define me, and I believe cannabis should not be criminalized.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the primary role in raising their children. Government should support that role, not override it.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Children need protection, not irreversible decisions. These are serious, life-altering matters, and minors are not in a position to fully understand the long-term consequences.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

I believe marriage is a sacred, faith-based union between a man and a woman. At the same time, government should step back from defining personal relationships and allow legal domestic partnerships between consenting adults with equal protections.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

I understand the revenue and economic benefits, but also the social risks. This is something that should be approached carefully with strong oversight rather than broad expansion or outright rejection.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a non-denominational Christian. I was raised in the LDS church, but over time I came to value a more personal relationship with God and Christ. My faith is not something I view as a label, but as something lived out through how I treat others, take responsibility for my actions, and continue to grow as a person. It has shaped my belief in accountability, service, and second chances. I don’t believe faith should be forced through government, but I do believe it should be freely lived and respected in our communities.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Election integrity matters. Requiring photo ID is a simple, reasonable step to ensure confidence in the process while still allowing lawful voters to participate.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

People should be treated equally under the law. Government policy should not divide people or assign benefits based on race.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Fairness and safety matter. Women’s spaces and sports exist for a reason, and they should be protected.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Agree

Human activity does impact the environment, and we’re seeing changes in weather patterns and conditions. That said, solutions should be practical and balanced, not driven by fear or policies that harm our economy or energy stability.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Reliable energy comes from a balanced mix. Hydropower already plays a major role in Idaho and should remain a cornerstone. Nuclear is productive and stable, but comes with waste and safety concerns. I’d like to see more investment in geothermal, whic
