QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I sponsored legislation while serving in the Idaho Legislature that accomplished the goal of preventing abortion providers from receiving taxpayer funds.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
There is no reason to take the life of an innocent child.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe human life begins at conception. A unique human being, with its own complete DNA distinct from both parents, exists from the instant of fertilization. That scientific reality underpins the moral conclusion that the intentional taking of an unborn life through abortion is wrong. This applies in all circumstances, including cases of rape and incest. While those crimes are horrific and the resulting pregnancy can cause profound trauma, the child conceived is still an innocent life.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
I support legislation to protect embryos from destruction, including in the context of in vitro fertilization (IVF). If human life begins at the moment of conception and humans are human from that moment, then embryos created through IVF are distinct, living human beings with the same inherent dignity and right to life as any other person at any stage of development.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
The Comstock Act (1873) prohibits mailing items intended for producing abortions, including drugs like mifepristone. Anti-abortion advocates urge enforcement to restrict interstate shipment nationwide, potentially creating a de facto ban without new legislation. However, the DOJ (under both Biden and the current Trump administrations) interprets it as applying only to unlawful use, not legal medication abortion, so it remains unenforced for mailing abortion pills.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state, as rooted in the First Amendment, prohibits the government from establishing an official religion, mandating religious observance, favoring one church over others, or creating a state-sanctioned church. It protects religious freedom by preventing government interference in belief or practice while barring state endorsement of any faith.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Individuals and businesses should not be forced to provide services that violate their deeply held moral or religious beliefs. Compelled speech or participation in acts contrary to conscience (e.g., baking custom cakes for events, designing websites, or performing ceremonies) infringes on First Amendment protections for free exercise of religion and freedom of expression. Voluntary exchange in a free market respects conscience while allowing alternatives to emerge.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Wages should be driven by market forces, supply and demand for labor, productivity, skills, and competition rather than government mandates. Free markets efficiently allocate resources, reward value creation, and encourage innovation.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise and private property rights are foundational to a productive economy. They incentivize innovation, efficient resource allocation, and risk-taking. When individuals own property and freely exchange goods/services, markets self-regulate via competition, driving prosperity, wealth creation, and higher living standards far better than centralized control
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Stop illegal immigration. 2. Implement zero-based budgeting — Force agencies to justify every dollar from scratch annually, not just incremental increases, ending automatic funding growth. 3. Consolidate or eliminate the hundreds of overlapping state and federal programs.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
