QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including funds for “family planning,” contraception, or abortion counseling).
Strongly Agree
I believe taxpayers should not be forced to fund organizations that provide abortions when qualified alternatives are available. Women should have access to healthcare, but taxpayer dollars should support providers that do not perform abortions. As a pro-life candidate, I believe government should protect innocent human life and should not use taxpayer resources to support the abortion industry. At the same time, I want women and families to have access to the healthcare they need. My position i
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Only exception is when necessary to save the life of the mother.o
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe every human life has inherent dignity and value, regardless of age, ability, circumstances, or stage of development. That protection begins at conception and continues throughout a person's life until natural death. For me, being pro-life means standing for the unborn while also supporting mothers, families, people with disabilities, the elderly, and those who are vulnerable or unable to speak for themselves. Government should protect all innocent human life.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
I believe human life does not become valuable based on how it was conceived. An embryo created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) is still a developing human life and deserves dignity and protection. We should support families who want children while rejecting the intentional destruction or careless disposal of human embryos. Advances in medicine should help us protect and preserve human life—not treat developing human beings as disposable.
Existing Federal laws that prohibit the interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
I believe existing federal laws should be enforced, not ignored. Abortion-inducing drugs should not be shipped across state lines when doing so violates federal law. We must uphold the rule of law and ensure that abortion drugs are not distributed in ways that put women or unborn children at risk. As a pro-life candidate, I believe protecting innocent human life and enforcing the laws of our nation should be priorities.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I oppose artificially high minimum wages because they can hurt the very workers they are intended to help and results in cut jobs, reduce hours, raise prices, or automation. We should focus on growing the economy and creating more good-paying jobs.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
I strongly believe free enterprise and private property rights are the foundation of a strong economy. People should be free to own property, start businesses, invest, compete, and succeed without unnecessary government interference. Protecting private property encourages investment, creates jobs, and gives individuals the freedom and opportunity to build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Cut unnecessary regulations that burden families, farmers, and small businesses. Reform college loan programs and stop taxpayers from subsidizing excessive college costs and student debt. End unfair trade practices that hurt American workers, farmers, and businesses. Eliminate wasteful government spending and require every agency to justify its programs and expenditures. Reduce government bureaucracy by eliminating duplicative programs, unnecessary positions, and excessive administrative costs.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, separation of church and state means government should not establish or impose a religion, but it does not mean removing faith from the public square. Every American should be free to openly express, practice, and live according to their faith—including in public life—without government interference. Religious liberty protects people of faith as well as those who choose not to practice a faith.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
I disagree. Individuals and businesses should not be forced by government to violate sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. Religious liberty and freedom of conscience are fundamental American principles. We should protect those freedoms while also respecting the rights of others and ensuring that people are treated fairly under the law.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C.) I support keeping both programs available, but they serve different purposes. Medicare provides healthcare coverage primarily for seniors and certain people with disabilities, while Medicaid provides healthcare coverage for low-income and vulnerable Americans. Both should be protected for those who genuinely qualify, These assistance programs should be targeted, accountable, and focused on helping low-income and vulnerable people.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
I disagree. The government should not maintain databases tracking people based on their medical conditions simply to calculate their economic cost. Protecting personal medical privacy and individual dignity should come first. Government can study healthcare costs using secure, anonymous data without creating databases that identify and track individuals by their illnesses.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We must strengthen our military and cybersecurity, protect American intellectual property, reduce dangerous dependence on China, and hold the CCP accountable for unfair trade and other actions that threaten American workers and businesses. I believe the Chinese Communist Party and foreign entities and adversary controlled by it should be prohibited from owning agricultural land, critical infrastructure, and other strategically important property in the United States.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. I believe the U.S.-Israel relationship is critically important. Israel is a key democratic ally in a strategically important region and an important partner in combating terrorism and confronting threats from Iran and other hostile forces. The United States should stand firmly with Israel, support its right to defend itself, and work with Israel to promote peace and security in the Middle East. As a Christian, I also recognize Israel's unique biblical and historical significance of Israel.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly disagree. Sanctuary cities undermine the rule of law by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. We can treat everyone with dignity and compassion while still enforcing our immigration laws. No city or local government should be allowed to declare itself a sanctuary from federal law.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and returning control of education to the states, local school boards, parents, and communities. Education decisions are best made close to the students and families they serve—not by Washington bureaucrats. We should empower parents, support teachers, improve academic outcomes, and give local communities the freedom to determine what works best for their children.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
I strongly support this. American education should be funded and directed by Americans—not foreign governments. Foreign funding can create opportunities for outside influence over our schools, curriculum, and academic institutions. Our education system should serve American students, families, and communities and reflect American interests and values.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
I strongly support this. Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to direct their children's health, education, and upbringing. Government and schools should respect parents as the primary decision-makers for their children, keep parents informed, and not interfere unnecessarily in those decisions.
Attempts to transition a child to the opposite sex are harmful to that child and should be prohibited.
Strongly Agree
Children deserve protection, not irreversible decisions they may not be equipped to understand. Attempts to medically or socially transition minors can cause lasting harm and should be prohibited. Parents, not government or ideological activists, should have the primary responsibility for their children’s health and well-being.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I believe marriage is a sacred, God-ordained union between one man and one woman. Government should respect the traditional definition of marriage and recognize the vital role that marriage and strong families play in a healthy society.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose the expansion of gambling in North Carolina. Government should not promote or expand an industry that can contribute to addiction, financial hardship, and broken families. Our state should focus on policies that strengthen families, create good-paying jobs, and build lasting economic opportunity rather than relying on gambling revenues.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Baptist Christian, and my faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life, my values, and my commitment to serving others. I believe the Bible is the Word of God and provides the moral and spiritual foundation for how we should live. My faith teaches me the importance of faith, family, personal responsibility, honesty, integrity, compassion, and service to others. I believe every person has inherent dignity and worth, and that we have a responsibility to help those in need, protect the vulnerable, and strengthen our families and communities. I believe government has an important but limited role, and that many of the most important responsibilities in society belong to families, churches, and local communities.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support requiring valid photo identification to vote in North Carolina. Every eligible voter should have the opportunity to cast a ballot, and every legitimate vote should be protected. Voter ID helps safeguard the integrity and public confidence in our elections while reasonable accommodations should be available for voters who face difficulty obtaining identification.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose reparations. Government policy should treat every person equally under the law and should not provide benefits or impose burdens based on race. We should focus on creating equal opportunities, strengthening families and communities, expanding economic opportunity, and addressing poverty and disadvantage based on individual circumstances rather than racial identity.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
I believe biological sex matters, particularly where privacy, safety, and fairness are involved. Biological males should not compete in women’s sports or have unrestricted access to women’s private spaces, including bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority housing, shelters, and correctional facilities. Women and girls deserve privacy, safety, and a fair opportunity to compete. Policies should protect those rights while treating every person with dignity and respect.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe government should respond to climate change with sweeping mandates, excessive regulation, or policies that harm working families and rural communities. We should pursue responsible environmental stewardship, encourage innovation and conservation, and protect our natural resources while keeping energy reliable and affordable. North Carolina’s environmental policies should be based on sound science, practical solutions, and economic reality—not fear or political ideology.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy is the most reliable long-term source for meeting North Carolina’s growing demand for electricity. It provides dependable, around-the-clock power with very low emissions and is not dependent on weather conditions.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I consider myself a conservative because I believe in limited government, individual responsibility, strong families, the protection of life, religious liberty, secure borders, the rule of law, property rights, and a strong economy. I believe government should respect the rights and freedoms of its citizens while allowing families, churches, businesses, and local communities to play their proper roles in building a strong and prosperous North Carolina.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The primary goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect law-abiding citizens, hold those who commit crimes accountable, and ensure that justice is applied fairly and consistently. We must support law enforcement, protect victims, uphold the rule of law, and impose appropriate consequences for criminal behavior. At the same time, those who can be responsibly rehabilitated should have opportunities to turn their lives around and become productive members of society.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely. Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse, including the growing threats children face online. Technology companies and online platforms should be held accountable for protecting minors from predators and exploitative content. We must strengthen enforcement against those who target children while supporting parents in protecting their children’s safety, privacy, and well-being online.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
I believe American law must be based on the United States Constitution, not on any religious legal system. Sharia law should not be incorporated into or given authority within the legal framework of the United States. Every person has the right to practice his or her faith freely, but our laws must apply equally to everyone and remain grounded in the Constitution, individual liberty, and the rule of law. Sharia itself should be outlawed.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe law-abiding citizens have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Rather than imposing broad restrictions on responsible gun owners, our priority should be keeping firearms out of the hands of violent criminals and individuals who are legally prohibited from possessing them. We should hold criminals accountable for the misuse of firearms, strengthen penalties for violent offenses, and promote responsible gun ownership while protecting the Second Amendment.
